A fundamental solution to slagging and fouling
K-Ment® is a slagging and fouling inhibitor that consolidates Blue Ocean's proprietary technology, with no comparable product anywhere in the world. More than half of the electricity generated by private biomass power plants in Korea comes from facilities using K-Ment, and Blue Ocean is contributing to the stable operation of biomass power plants worldwide through this product.


The optimal solution for boilers without additive injection equipment
K-Ment delivers powerful clinker suppression, but its application has historically been limited to plants equipped with additive injection systems. The Clinker Zero series removes this barrier as an integrated solution—K-Ment is pre-blended into the fuel or bed material, allowing boilers without dedicated injection ports to enjoy the full clinker suppression effect of K-Ment.

K-Ment is blended with bed material so that it can be charged directly when replenishing the fluidizing medium of a circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boiler, providing continuous clinker suppression.
Next-generation fuels that replace woody biomass
Most biomass power plants depend on imported wood pellets. Within the structural limits of supply instability and price volatility, Blue Ocean is developing alternative fuels that can be produced reliably within Korea.
Herbaceous crops offer the advantages of fast growth cycles and high yields, but their low energy density and high alkali content have kept them from being used as power generation fuel.
Through joint research with the University of Tokyo, Blue Ocean developed a seed variety with high energy density. By using K-Ment to resolve the alkali-related problems, we have completed a next-generation fuel that preserves the inherent strengths of herbaceous crops.
Sewage sludge has excellent calorific value, and research into using it as fuel has continued for many years. However, odor problems arising during production and delivery have made on-site application difficult.
As the only company in the industry to fully enclose every process from production to delivery, Blue Ocean has eliminated odor problems at the source through proprietary technology, transforming sewage sludge into an eco-friendly GR-certified fuel.
